HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Job Description
- Job Location: Rancho Santa Margarita, California
- Position reports to Gish GM, with a reporting line to the Global HR Director of German parent organization.
- The Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible for managing and providing leadership to the corporation in the areas of benefits, staffing, recruiting, compensation, employee relations, training, payroll facilitation, and HR policy design, interpretation and communication.
- Provides creative Human Resource solutions to Gish Biomedical’s strategic business needs.
- Provides input and recommendations to management on structure, organizational design and resource planning issues based on skills inventory and present work force.
- Implements HR tools, plans, practices, and processes to facilitate people and organizational development.
- Monitors compliance with employment laws.
- Coordinates all hiring processes, including new hire paperwork.
- Resolves employee inquiries locally to the extent possible.
- Identifies alternative and cost effective sources of recruitment in support of business requirements.
- Responds to sensitive and confidential issues and concerns raised by all levels of employees in a confidential, timely, and objective manner.
- Maintains constant awareness of general employee issues/concerns and recommends solutions to management to ensure positive morale and issue-free environment.
- Oversees the organization and planning of special employee activities and events.
- Ensures that all necessary paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for all employee separation activities; including last paycheck, severance (if applicable), COBRA administration, coordinating return of company assets, etc..
- Identifies training needs and actively supports the career development of employees within the framework of the Company's Human Resources Planning Process.
- Actively interprets existing policies and procedures and identifies, designs and implements changes.
- Educates employees at all levels regarding programs and policies such as benefits, goals, MBOs, sexual harassment, ethics and attendance.
- Identifies compensation issues and reviews with management to ensure pay equity and proper placement within market and company guidelines.
- Provides monthly HR status reports to General Manager and Director Global HR.
- Works in conjunction with the finance department regarding the facilitation of payroll, including federal and state taxes and the administration of all payroll deductions.
- Oversees the timely entry of data into the appropriate system, including information pertaining to employee separations, appointments, leave transfers, benefits, payroll, etc.
- Oversees the proper administration of personnel payroll functions including salary changes, wage assessments, etc.
- Benchmarks, designs and implements benefits plan for company. Provides answers to benefits questions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or equivalent knowledge is required. Masters degree is preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity is essential. HR Generalist experience should include recruitment & staffing, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits and career development.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of current federal, state, and local human resources-related laws, regulations, trends and issues.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information in written and verbal form, as well as proficiency with computer systems (MS Office).
- Must possess the ability to forge and maintain strategic business partnerships as well as the ability to interface with all levels of employees in the organization.
- The ability to analyze data and create and communicate options to meet desired business objectives is highly desired.
- Must be 100% proficient in the English language (written and verbal). Vietnamese and/or German language skills are a plus, but not required.
